The two-day auction for the stalls at the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair was conducted smoothly. A total revenue of $7,538,600 was brought, compared with $10,110,050 last year.
Out of the 483 stalls at the Fair, 426 stalls, including 263 for dry goods, 160 for wet goods and three for fast food were successfully let out during the open auction at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
The second day auction for the 300 dry goods stalls was held today with 263 stalls let out. Today's auction attracted around 800 participants. The successful bid prices for the stalls ranged from $8,760 to $49,600, with an average price at $17,586, which is about two times of the opening price at $8,760.
Auction of stalls for Lunar New Year Fairs in Kowloon and the New Territories will start next Monday (October 15) and November 8 respectively.
