With the theme "Let's Innovate... For a New Era", the excitement of "Innovation Festival 07" continues with roadshows at Cityplaza in Taikoo Shing from October 5 to 7 and at Tuen Mun Town Plaza from October 12 to 14.

A design exhibition will also be held at the InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong from October 17 to November 7.

The upcoming roadshows will feature exhibits from students of Tuen Mun Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University; robots participating in the World Robot Olympiad 2007 and in the setting of new Guinness World Records.

A simulation game featuring the hybrid electric vehicle designed by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and winning projects of the Hong Kong Student Science Project Competition will also be showcased.

There will also be a number of DesignTech workshops in which youngsters can participate.

"Innovation Expo 07", the highlight of "Innovation Festival 07", attracted more than 23,000 visitors when it was held in mid-September. More than 100 organisations, including local universities, research and development (R&D) organisations, industry support organisations, technology and design enterprises as well as technology education organisations participated in the Expo.  The State Ministry of Science and Technology also showcased its technology projects, including a Three Gorges Project model, at the Expo.

Expo visitors were invited to vote for their "Most Wanted Technology Breakthrough" from 10 short-listed wishes. Amongst the 10 wishes, "Domestic Robot" attracted the greatest number of votes. The organiser has picked 10 lucky voters from all those who voted for "Domestic Robot" and each of them will be awarded a Windows Vista Ultimate (Chinese Edition) sponsored by Microsoft Hong Kong Limited.

Organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission with The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups as festival partner, "Innovation Festival 07" aims to nurture an innovation and technology culture among the public through showcasing the best in innovation, technology and design.

People are welcome to join the roadshows and design exhibition which are free of charge. For programme details and registration for workshops of roadshows, please visit www.innotech.gov.hk or contact the festival partner, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, on 2561 6149.
