SED to visit Beijing

    The Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, will visit Beijing on Thursday (September 27) with a 150-strong "National Day Delegation from Educational Sector of Hong Kong 2007".  

     During his stay in the capital, Mr Suen will attend briefings on the country's further development in education and the 11th Five-Year Plan by officials of the Ministry of Education and the National Development and Reform Commission respectively. He will also call on the Ministry of Education and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.

     The delegation comprises teachers and principals from local primary and secondary schools and kindergartens as well as representatives from the tertiary sector.  

     Members will take part in a variety of activities including visits and exchanges to learn more about the Mainland and its latest development in education, economics, science and technology. This will help them in their work in promoting national education among Hong Kong's younger generation.
