"Declared Monuments in Hong Kong" special stamps issuing ceremony (with photos)

    Hongkong Post today (September 20) issued the "Declared Monuments in Hong Kong" special stamps. This set comprises six stamps, depicting images of six historical structures in Hong Kong - Tin Hau Temple, Causeway Bay ($1.40), Old Wan Chai Post Office ($1.80), Former Central Police Station Compound ($2.40), Former Yamen Building of Kowloon Walled City ($2.50), Kun Lung Gate Tower, Lung Yeuk Tau ($3), and Tang Lung Chau Lighthouse ($5).

     At a ceremony this afternoon at Kowloon Walled City Park, Secretary for Development Mrs Carrie Lam, Chairman of Antiquities Advisory Board Mr Edward Ho, and Postmaster General Mr Tam Wing-pong, officiated the issue of the special stamps. Mr Tam presented framed stamps and first day covers to Mrs Lam, Mr Ho and Mr Freeman Lau, who designed the special stamps.
