The following is issued on behalf on the Hospital Authority:
Members of the public are invited to attend the Hospital Authority Board meeting at 3.30pm on Thursday (September 20).
The board meeting has been open to the public since 1998 to demonstrate the continuous effort of the authority to enhance its transparency and public accountability. The Hospital Authority Board will hold meetings at regular intervals to discuss major health policy issues which have impact on the public.
Through these open meetings, the community will be able to understand more about the role and functions of the board as well as the operation and services of the Hospital Authority and its hospitals.
The board will discuss the following agenda items:
- New Career Structure for Doctors
- Update on Measures Implemented to Address Increase in Demand for Obstetric Services
- Report on a Medication Incident of Intrathecal Administration of Vincristine in Prince of Wales Hospital
- Medical Laboratory Technologist Grade Reform
- Chief Executive's Progress Report on Key Performance Indicators and Strategic Priorities
Meeting agenda and papers will be made available to the public at the meeting. People are reminded that they attend the board meeting only as observers and will not be participating in the meeting discussions. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in the meeting.
People who are interested in attending the upcoming board meeting should make advance booking by contacting the Secretariat of the Hospital Authority Board at 2300 6797 during office hours. To facilitate booking arrangements, people are advised to provide their name, contact telephone number and correspondence address. In view of the limited seating available in the Public Gallery of the Conference Hall, admission tickets will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
