Long service awards for members of the Immigration Service (with photo)

    Three hundred and fifty disciplined staff of the Immigration Department are being awarded Hong Kong Immigration Service Long Service Medals and Clasps.  The presentation ceremony is separated into two parts, with the first today (September 17). The second part will be on Thursday (September 20).

     Assistant Director (Control) Mr David Chiu Wai-kai officiated at the first presentation at Immigration Headquarters today.  

     Mr Chiu expressed his appreciation to the recipients of the awards who had dedicated long years of loyal service to the department, displaying exemplary performance.

     The award of the Hong Kong Immigration Service Long Service Medals and Clasps is to honour those with exemplary character and conduct who have given long and meritorious service as members of the Immigration Service.

     Ex-Chief Immigration Officer (Certificate of Entitlement Section) Mrs Wong Choi Pui-ching, and Immigration Officer (Quality Migrants and Mainland Residents Section), Mr Kwok Chun-hung, were awarded the third clasps to their medals for 33 years of dedicated service with the department.

     The Second clasps, signifying 30 years of service, were presented to Senior Immigration Officer (Staff (Support) Section) Mrs Eva Chan Kwok Yee-wah, and two other officers.  Chief Immigration Officer (Special Investigation) Mr Pak Yuen-oug, and 74 other officers received the first clasps, marking 25 years of service while 91 other officers received the Hong Kong Immigration Long Service Medals which marked 18 years of service.

     Mr Chiu congratulated recipients of the awards and thanked all staff for their support in the smooth implementation of various department projects and measures. In face of the challenges ahead, he firmly believed that colleagues would continue to demonstrate their esprit de corps and perseverance in striving for continuous improvement of the service provided to the public.
