SCMA meets several sectors on constitutional development green paper (with photos)

    The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, today (September 17) continued to meet different sectors to introduce the Green Paper on Constitutional Development.

     Mr Lam met representatives of the insurance sector at the Government Headquarters in the morning. He then attended a luncheon with the textile and garment sector, followed by a seminar organised by Hong Kong members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in the afternoon. During these occasions, Mr Lam outlined the key issues set out in the Green Paper and explained the principles and requirements involved in attaining the ultimate aim of universal suffrage as stipulated in the Basic Law.

     In the evening, Mr Lam joined the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, to attend the Kowloon Regional Forum on the Green Paper held in the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre in Kowloon Park and listened to the views and concerns of the participants about the issue.
