National Judicial Examination held in Hong Kong
***********************************************

A total of 143 Hong Kong residents are taking part in the two-day National Judicial Examination today and tomorrow (September 15 and 16). This is the third year in which examination centres are set up in Hong Kong to facilitate Hong Kong residents taking this examination.

The examination, organised by the National Judicial Examination Centre of the Ministry of Justice, is held simultaneously in different parts of the Mainland.

The examination in Hong Kong is held at Kowloon Technical College in Sham Shui Po and Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority's examination centre in Wan Chai.

Under the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), which came into effect on January 1, 2004, Hong Kong permanent residents with Chinese citizenship are allowed to sit the National Judicial Examination. Such Hong Kong residents will be granted a restricted right to practise on the Mainland after passing the examination.
