The Government published in the Gazette today (September 14) the proposed road works to facilitate the future Comprehensive Development Area development at 35 Clear Water Bay Road, Ngau Chi Wan, and provide traffic improvements for the neighbouring areas.
The proposed works include construction of an elevated carriageway and carriageway with footpaths on both sides connecting the existing and extended Ping Ting Road East and the future residential/commercial development at 35 Clear Water Bay Road; modification of the public transport terminus and permanent closure of the existing ingress; construction of covered footbridges; temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of existing footpaths and carriageways; and other ancillary works including construction of retaining walls, safety island, drainage and slope works.
Construction work is planned to start in 2009 and is expected to be completed in 2012.
The plans and scheme are available for public inspection at the following Government Offices during office hours:
(i) Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queens's Road Central;
(ii) Wong Tai Sin District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 201, 2nd Floor, Lung Cheung Office Block, 138 Lung Cheung Road, Wong Tai Sin; and
(iii) District Lands Office, Kowloon East, 10th Floor, Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building, 250 Shanghai Street.
Anyone who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both should write to the office of the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road on or before November 13, 2007.
