The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang and the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, today (September 11) continued to meet different sectors to introduce the Green Paper on Constitutional Development.

The two principal officials briefed a meeting of the International Business Committee on the Green Paper and a seminar organised by the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association in the afternoon and listened to members' views.

In the morning, Mr Lam met with representatives of the construction sector at the Government Headquarters, including the Hong Kong Construction Association, the Hong Kong Electrical & Mechanical Contractors' Association and the Contractor's Authorised Signatory Association.

He attended the 25th anniversary dinner of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (Hong Kong Chapter) in the evening and addressed the gathering on the subject. Mr Lam outlined the key issues set out in the Green Paper and explained the principles and requirements involved in attaining the ultimate aim of universal suffrage as stipulated in the Basic Law.

While Mr Lam will continue to meet different sectors to listen to their views and concerns about the issue, he called on people to continue to voice their opinion regarding the consultation document.
