Yuen Long restaurant ordered to suspend business
************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at ground floor, No 55D On Ning Road was ordered to suspend business from today (September 10) to September 23, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In July last year and June this year, there were two convictions for failing to cover food properly at the food premises."

"A total fine of $2,000 was levied and 15 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He said the same restaurant had two convictions in April last year for the same offence.

"A total fine of $2,000 was levied and 15 demerit points were also registered against the licensee and the breaches led to business suspension for seven days from September 6 to 12 last year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
