CE arrives in New Zealand for official visit

    The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, has tonight (September 9) touched down in New Zealand for a three-day official visit.

     During the visit Mr Tsang will update political and business leaders on the latest developments in Hong Kong and strengthen bilateral links between Hong Kong and New Zealand.

     The Chief Executive will also urge New Zealand businesses to make use of Hong Kongˇ¦s unique advantages to access the burgeoning markets of Asia, and especially that of China.

     Tomorrow (September 10), Mr Tsang will spend a day in the capital, Wellington, where he will meet Prime Minster Helen Clark, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr Michael Cullen, and attend a luncheon hosted by the Asia New Zealand Foundation.

     Mr Tsang will also be given the honour of a traditional Maori welcome before touring the Te Papa Topngarewa (National Museum).        

     On Tuesday (September 11), Mr Tsang will fly to Auckland where he will launch a Hong Kong Tourism Board campaign inviting New Zealanders to visit Hong Kong for the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events, meet business and political leaders, and deliver a keynote speech at a gala dinner.

     Mr Tsang landed in Wellington tonight after a four-day visit to Sydney, Australia, for the annual APEC Economic Leaders Meeting.
