Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, at a media stand-up after attending a consultation session on constitutional development organised by the HK Coalition of Professional Services this evening (September 7):
Reporter: The march will be done within the consultation period. Do you think the number of marchers will be taken as an indication of public opinion?
Chief Secretary for Administration: As far as I am concerned, the government respects the right of each individual person to march, to gather and to meet. So as long as the activity is legal and they obtain the proper notice of no objection, we will respect the activity.
