The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam, continued to meet with different sectors today (September 3) as part of the public consultation on the Green Paper on Constitutional Development.
Mr Lam addressed a luncheon organised by the Hong Kong Democratic Foundation. He then attended separate forums organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Fujian Associations in the afternoon and the architectural, surveying and planning sector in the evening.
Mr Lam outlined the key issues set out in the Green Paper and explained the principles and requirements involved in attaining the ultimate aim of universal suffrage as stipulated in the Basic Law. He also listened to the views and concerns of participants about the issue.
