The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Commerce and Industry and Panel on Economic Services last Friday (August 31) ended its 12-day overseas duty visit to Dubai, Europe and the United States to obtain first-hand information on the development of convention and exhibition facilities and cruise terminal facilities in these places.
During its stay in Los Angeles, last stop of the duty visit, the delegation met representatives from the Port of Los Angeles to understand the operation of a cruise terminal, as well as representatives from the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau to receive a briefing on the promotion and development of tourism industry in Los Angeles.
The eight-member delegation was led by Hon Vincent Fang Kang. Other members were Hon Jeffrey Lam Kin-fung, deputy delegation leader, Hon Wong Ting-kwong, Hon Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, Hon Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen, Hon James Tien Pei-chun, Hon Howard Young, and Hon Mrs Selina Chow Liang Shuk-yee.
