The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Tuen Mun to suspend business for seven days and 14 days respectively for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The food premises concerned is located at Shop 27, ground floor, Hang Fuk Building, 45-47 Castle Peak Road.
The seven-day suspension will take place from today (September 2) to September 8, to be followed by the 14-day suspension from September 9 to 22.
"In March and April this year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the said food premises.
"A total fine of $2,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 7-day business suspension," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
He added that in May this year, there were two convictions of the same offence regarding the same food premises again.
"A total fine of $3,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for 14 days," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
