The Treasury Markets Association (TMA) announced today (August 31) that Mr Y K Choi had resigned from the chairmanship of the Executive Board of the TMA, in the light of his change of portfolio within the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) with effect from September 1, 2007.
"It has been my great honour to serve as the Chairman of the Executive Board of the TMA during its founding years. With the staunch support from its institutional and individual members, the TMA has made substantial achievements to enhance the professionalism and competitiveness of the treasury markets in Hong Kong. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to fellow members of the Executive Board for their continuous dedication and support," said Mr Choi.
At its meeting of August 27, 2007, the Executive Board of the TMA elected Mr Eddie Yue, who will become Deputy Chief Executive of the HKMA, to be the new Chairman effective on September 1, 2007. Mr Edmond Lau, who will take up the position of Executive Director (Monetary Management & Infrastructure) of the HKMA, has also been appointed as an Executive Board member of the TMA effective on the same date.
