Approved Tai Tam and Shek O Outline Zoning Plan amended
*******************************************************

The Town Planning Board (the Board) today (August 31) announced amendments to the approved Tai Tam and Shek O Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments include mainly zoning amendments to reflect the boundary of the existing Hong Kong International School and its expansion area.  The ¡§Government, Institution or Community¡¨ (¡§G/IC¡¨) zone covering the School is divided into five sub-areas.  In addition, the possible alignment and annotation of the proposed Route 81 is deleted from the OZP.

To maintain the general amenity and existing character of the area, the Notes of the OZP are also amended to incorporate, inter alia, building height restrictions for the ¡§G/IC¡¨ sub-areas and the requirement for planning permission for new development in two ¡§G/IC¡¨ sub-areas.

The draft Tai Tam and Shek O OZP No. S/H18/9, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in the North Point and Sha Tin Government Offices, the Hong Kong District Planning Office and the Southern District Office.

Any person can make written representations in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before October 31, 2007.  Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft Tai Tam and Shek O OZP No. S/H18/9 are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei.  The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website at http://www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
