The Highways Department today (August 31) invited tenders for upgrading/improvement of roadside man-made slopes/retaining walls in the urban areas.
The works for Package I mainly comprise the improvement and upgrading of some 48 man-made slopes and retaining walls maintained by the department in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island while the works for Package II comprise some 46 man-made slopes/retaining walls on Hong Kong Island.
The works for Package I are expected to begin in December and will take about three years to complete. The works for Package II will begin in November and take about 31 months to complete
The works for Package I have been designed and construction will be supervised by Halcrow China Limited, and the design and supervision works for Package II are conducted by C M Wong & Associates Ltd. Both companies were appointed by the Urban Region of the department.
