The Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Mrs Carrie Yau, today (August 26) visited the competition venue of the Olympic Sailing Regatta in Qingdao and met officials of the Qingdao Sailing Committee of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
The delegation led by Mrs Yau yesterday afternoon saw for themselves the decoration at the airport terminal and the street decorations promoting the Olympics. Both Qingdao and Hong Kong will serve as Olympic co-host cities.
The delegation today met the Qingdao Sailing Committee and exchanged experience on cultural activities and street decorations.
Accompanying Mrs Yau in the visit include the representatives of Airport Authority Hong Kong, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Home Affairs Bureau, Information Services Department, Leisure and Cultural Services Department as well as Home Affairs Department.
The delegation will be back to Hong Kong tomorrow (August 27) evening.
