Application for the Sale of Surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Flats Phase 2 will close on Tuesday (August 21).
Assistant Director of Housing (Housing Subsidies) Mr Albert Lee Kwok-wing reminded eligible applicants that the 3,255 flats on offer in the current sales phase presented an unprecedented variety of choice. "They are distributed across various districts, and feature a wide range of floor areas and layout designs. With selling prices starting from $240,000-plus, this is a great opportunity for eligible people who want to become a flat owner by way of the HOS," Mr Lee said.
Application forms and necessary documents must reach the respective estate offices or the Housing Authority Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu on or before Tuesday. For applications sent by post, the date of the postal chop on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission. The on-site show flats in Kingsford Terrace, Wong Tai Sin, and in Ka Keng Court, Tai Wai, will remain open for public viewing until the end of the application period.
Applicants will soon receive an acknowledgement letter with an assigned application number. A DVD containing the reference photos of the interior of returned flats will also be sent to them with the acknowledgement letter.
Mr Lee expects the ballot ceremony to take place in early September to determine the flat selection sequence for applicants. Thereafter, the Housing Department will open designated returned flats in eight different courts for applicants' viewing by appointment.
Flat selection is expected to begin in early October. The on-site show flats in Kingsford Terrace and Ka Keng Court will then re-open. When prospective purchasers have successfully selected a returned flat, arrangements will be made for them to visit that specific flat before signing the Agreement for Sale and Purchase.
