Police arrested three men aged between 19 and 37 for trafficking in dangerous drugs following the seizure of two Kg of suspected methamphetamine (¡§Ice¡¨) worth over $0.87 million at the Hong Kong International Airport, Chek Lap Kok yesterday (July 28).
Following extensive investigations, officers of the Narcotics Bureau mounted an anti-dangerous drugs operation and intercepted three men who were about to enter the Departure Hall of the Hong Kong International Airport at about 7 pm yesterday.
Search on two men aged 19 and 25 discovered that each was affixed with four bags of ¡§Ice¡¨ around their thighs and legs with each bag containing 0.25 kg in weight. Both admitted that they intended to smuggle the drugs to Australia.
Meanwhile, another 37-year-old man responsible for affixing the drugs and arranging the flight and accommodation in Australia for the other two men was also arrested.
The haul could fetch over $0.87 million in the retail market.
The three men were all arrested for trafficking in dangerous drugs. They are still being detained for enquiries.
