The Government today (July 27) announced the appointment of four new members and re-appointment of three members to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority. The appointment details are as follows:

The Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen, said the authority was a strategic partner of the Education Bureau in the implementation of education reforms. The distinguished members from the education sector and other professions will enrich the expertise of the authority.
Mr Suen thanked the outgoing members - Messrs Chu Fu-yau, Chu Yu-lun, Lee Chi-ming and Professor Mok Mo-ching, for their contributions to the work of the authority.
The authority is a statutory body established under the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority Ordinance to conduct public examinations and assessment, and other examinations approved by the Chief Executive. The composition of the authority is stipulated in Schedule 2 to the ordinance. Members of the authority include school principals, teachers, professionals and representatives of parents, tertiary institutions and the commercial sector.
