Employer ordered to pay MPF non-payment

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (July 26) obtained an order in the District Court against an employer for payment of outstanding MPF contributions.
The District Court issued a judgment against Alcos Concepts Company Limited. The defendant was ordered to pay the MPFA $117,670.73, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to five employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The District Court further ordered the defendant to pay cost of $930 for the case.
