Pictured is a lacquered winged figure of the Warring States Period (475-221 BC) excavated from Tianxingguan at Jingzhou in Hubei Province. It probably has close ties to Chu people's unique religious beliefs and myths which provides crucial information in the study of the history and culture of the Chu state.
