Eligible people wanting to vote in the November District Council election have until next Monday (July 16) to submit their applications for voter registration.
A Registration and Electoral Office (REO) spokesman said today (July 13) that the polls for the District Council election would be held on November 18.
For registered electors, the deadline to report any change of address or other personal particulars to the REO is August 29.
Hong Kong permanent residents holding an identity document who have reached 18 years of age and ordinarily reside in Hong Kong are eligible to be registered as electors.
Voter registration forms can be obtained at District Offices, post offices, management offices of public housing estates, and the REO. They can also be downloaded from the voter registration website (www.voterregistration.gov.hk).
Applicants can submit their applications by mail to the REO at 10/F, Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai, or by fax to 2891 1180. E-certificate holders can also file their applications through the Electronic Services Delivery website.
Those who have submitted the forms for registration or notification of address change will receive a reply from the REO within 14 days. People should call the enquiry hotline, 2891 1001, if they do not receive any reply from the REO within 14 days after submitting their forms.
