The Land Registry today (July 5) released land registration statistics recorded for the first half of 2007.
The total number of sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration in the Land Registry for the period was 63,507. This represented an increase of 24.1% compared with the second half of 2006 and 32.5% compared with the first half of 2006.
The total amount of consideration involved in these agreements was $213.66 billion. This was up by 39.9% compared with the second half of 2006 and 31.5% compared with the first half of 2006.
During the first half of 2007, 71,371 assignments of building units were lodged for registration. This was 11.2% above the 64,178 assignments recorded during the second half of 2006 and 15.5% above the 61,805 assignments recorded in the first half of 2006.
The total consideration amounted to $193.22 billion. This was an increase of 14.1% over the second half of 2006 and 20.5% over the first half of 2006.
Searches of land records made by the public during the first half of 2007 totalled 2,175,766. This was up 7.9% compared with the second half of 2006 and 12.1% compared with the first half of 2006.
