Celebration events to mark HKSAR's 10th Anniversary
***************************************************

The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, and senior government officials will attend a flag-raising ceremony on Sunday (July 1) to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The flag-raising ceremony will be held at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai at 8am. About 2,900 people, including district leaders, members of community groups and uniformed groups, will attend the ceremony.

The police band and a mixed choir of Diocesan Boys' School and Diocesan Girls' School will perform at the ceremony, which will be followed by a sea parade and a fly-past by the disciplined services.

Following the flag-raising ceremony, the Celebrations of the 10th Anniversary of Hong Kong's Return to the Motherland and Inauguration of the Third Term Government of the HKSAR will be held at the Grand Hall of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. During the ceremony, the Chief Executive, all principal officials and members of the Executive Council will take their oaths for the new term of government.

About 2,000 guests, including members of the Legislative Council, senior government officials, consular corps, and members of various community sectors will attend the ceremony.

People are reminded that no public viewing area will be set up for the flag-raising ceremony on July 1. The Golden Bauhinia Square and the nearby area will be designated as a restricted zone by the Police. Only holders of valid passes will be allowed entry.
