Electors urged to vote in Tai Po DC by-election tomorrow
********************************************************

Electors of the Tai Po District Council Hong Lok Yuen constituency have been urged to vote in the by-election in their constituency tomorrow (June 10).

Three polling stations will be open to electors from 7.30am to 10.30pm tomorrow. They are located at Kai Chi School, Tai Po Tau, Tai Po; Yuk Yin School, Kau Lung Hang, Tai Po; and Hong Lok Yuen International School, Tai Po.

The two candidates contesting the by-election are: No 1, Ho Kwok Keung; and No 2, Tang Yau Fat.

"It will take just a few minutes for people to vote," a spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office said today.

"All an elector needs to do is to show their identity card at the polling station, and use the chop provided to stamp the ballot paper with a tick in the circle opposite the name of his chosen candidate before putting it into the ballot box," the spokesman said.

The spokesman warned that the polling stations were restricted areas accessible only to electors and authorised people.

"Unauthorised people are strictly prohibited from using mobile phones, taking photographs, filming or making video or audio recordings in the polling stations," he said.

An election hotline, 2891 1001, will be in service from 7am to 11pm tomorrow to answer enquiries relating to electoral matters, including the locations of polling stations that electors should visit.

A complaints hotline, 2827 7251, will also operate through the polling hours (from 7.30am to 10.30pm tomorrow) to handle complaints about breaches of electoral rules and guidelines.

Once the poll is closed, the polling stations will be turned into counting stations, and people are welcome to watch the counting of votes. The Returning Officer will announce the election results at the dominant counting station at Kai Chi School.

The elected candidate will fill a vacant seat in the Tai Po District Council.
