Press release on recall of Nelfinavir

In response to media enquiries, a Hospital Authority spokesperson gave the following reply:
The Hospital Authority noted the voluntary recall of all batches of Nelfinavir by Roche Pharmaceuticals. All public hospitals have been informed to immediately suspend use of the drug. About 40 patients of specialist outpatient clinics prescribed the drug are being contacted to stop taking the drug and return to the clinics for replacement with other alternatives.
The authority will continue to maintain close contact with the supplier to obtain the latest information for necessary follow-up.
