Inquiry by Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to HK Institute of Education nearing completion
************************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to The Hong Kong Institute of Education:

The inquiry being conducted by the Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to The Hong Kong Institute of Education is nearing completion, upon the exchange of written submissions among counsel for the Commission and various parties today (June 2).

In the submissions (now available at the Commission's website: www.commissionofinquiry.gov.hk), counsel for the Commission and the parties summarise the evidence they think the Commission should consider, and tell the Commission how they view the evidence and what proper findings and conclusions, according to them, should be drawn.

A spokesperson for the Secretariat of the Commission pointed out that counsel's views did not represent those of the Commission.

"The Commission will reach its findings and conclusions independently after hearing oral submissions from counsel for the Commission and the parties on June 5 and 6."

The hearing will be held at the hearing room on the 38th floor, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai.
