People wanting to have fun cycling with family members but don't want to travel a long way need look no further than the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade.
Equipped with a 1.5-kilometre cycling track, bicycle rental facilities and a mini cycling ground in the centre of the promenade, the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade is an ideal cycling ground in the urban areas for parents and children where cyclists can also admire the harbour view.
People can take the opportunity tomorrow afternoon (May 27) to attend a fun-filled family carnival at the promenade, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and share the fun of cycling.
There will be various entertaining programmes, including cycling performances, trampoline games, games stalls, variety show and clown performances.
The carnival will be held from 1pm to 5pm. Free shuttle bus services between Kowloon Park (Austin Road entrance) and West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade will be arranged. Buses will depart from Kowloon Park to West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade every 15 minutes from 12.30pm to 4pm. They will depart from West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade to Kowloon Park at 15-minute intervals from 12.45pm to 5.30pm.

The promenade is open from 6am to 11pm daily. West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade has two entrances - the eastern entrance at the junction of Austin Road West and Nga Cheung Road, Tsim Sha Tsui and the western entrance at the Kowloon-side exit of Western Harbour Crossing. The promenade is equipped with a metered carpark which provides 30 private car parking spaces and two coach parking spaces near the eastern entrance to the promenade. Visitors may also get there by the following ways:
- To take KMB No. 8 which runs between Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier and Kowloon MTR Station or green mini-bus No. 77M running between Tsim Sha Tsui East and Kowloon MTR Station which will stop in Austin Road West near the access road leading to the promenade's eastern entrance. It then takes about 10 minutes' walk to arrive at the promenade;
- To take the MTR to Kowloon Station from which is a five minutes' walk to the promenade's western entrance;
- To arrive the public transport interchange near Kowloon MTR Station for Bus No. 8, 11, 203E, 215X, 207A and 281A, and green mini-bus No. 26, 74 and 77M, and then walk for about five minutes to reach the western entrance; or
- To take the cross harbour tunnel buses of route numbers 904, 905, 914, 934, 935, 948 968, 970 etc. to alight at the bus stops at Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza and walk for about five minutes to get to the promenade.
