Submarine cable circuits at Tolo Harbour

    The Government intends to allow CLP Power Hong Kong Limited to install two submarine cable circuits from Ma On Shan to Pak Shek Kok.

     The installation works which involve two 132 kV submarine cable circuits of about 1.3 kilometres in length are for the purpose of improving the supply security for Sha Tin and Tai Po areas.

     The works will affect an area of about 31.1 hectares of foreshore and sea-bed situated at Tolo Harbour.

     The works are scheduled to commence in September 2007 and to be completed by three months.

     A notice describing the extent of area affected is published in the Government Gazette today (May 25).

     Any person who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved can submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, on or before July 25, 2007.

     The notice together with a related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the site.  The plan can also be seen at the Lands Department's Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices and at the Public Enquiry Service Centre, Sha Tin District Office, Ground Floor, Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road, Sha Tin.
