A solemn Grade III historical building has become the Office of Former Chief Executives of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
A government spokesman said today (April 21) that its use as a government office was a way to better preserve the historical building at 28 Kennedy Road.
¡§The Office is to be made available to two to three former Chief Executives to perform promotional, protocol-related, or any other activities in relation to their former official role.
¡§Some of these activities include receiving visiting dignitaries and delegations, giving local and overseas media interviews, and taking part in speaking engagements.
¡§The Office will also provide administrative support for former Chief Executives,¡¨ he said.
Arrangements will be made for the building premises to be open to the public on designated days.
