Colorful musical "Broadway Rhythm" from the USA

    "Broadway Rhythm", a musical by The Young Ambassadors of Brigham Young University (USA), will be staged next month (May), showcasing a colorful song and dance production.

     Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Broadway Rhythm" is a revue celebrating musical theatre of the 20th and 21st centuries. This colorful musical theatre production contains songs and dances representing the best of the American musical scene on Broadway and other stages.

     The show features many memorable scenes from "Singin' in the Rain", "Show Boat", "West Side Story", "Phantom of the Opera", "All Shook Up", "Sophisticated Ladies", "Big River", "Crazy for You", "Les Misˆmrables", "Swing", "The Sound of Music", "The Act", "Damn Yankees", "Annie Get Your Gun", "Riverdance ¡V On Broadway", "The Lion King".

     Over the past 34 years the Young Ambassadors have travelled to more than 56 countries. With a message calling for friendship and understanding, and with music as their medium, the Young Ambassadors sing and dance to communicate the ever-present need for values in today's world.

     The show will be at 8pm on May 4 at Tsuen Wan Town Hall and on May 5 at Tuen Mun Town Hall. Tickets ranged from $90 to $160 are now available at URBTIX outlets. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistant (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for students and CSSA recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis).      The Young Ambassadors will share their vocal, dancing and acting techniques for musicals at a workshop on "Performing in Musicals" to be held at 3pm on May 3 (Thursday) at GR1, 6/F, Grand Theatre Backstage, Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
