The Government today (March 26) announced the re-appointment of the chairman and 11 members of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education and the appointment of one new member for a two-year term starting April 1, 2007. A list of the re-appointed and new members is as follows:

The Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education is a non-statutory advisory body to promote civic education outside schools through a range of publicity and educational programmes. It commissions research studies on different aspects of civic education, works in partnership with other non-governmental organisations on specific promotion projects, and operates funding schemes to sponsor non-governmental organisations in carrying out civic education projects.
