Commission of Inquiry to hold hearing tomorrow

The following is issued on behalf of the Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to The Hong Kong Institute of Education:

     The Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to The Hong Kong Institute of Education will hold a hearing tomorrow (March 22).

     The Commission will deal with the following matters ¡V

(a) to confirm the orders and directions made by the Commission prior to the recusal of the Vice-President of the Court of Appeal of the High Court, Mr Justice Woo, on March 16, 2007;

(b) to rule on the application of Professor Magdalena Mok, Mr Ip Kin-yuen, Dr Pang I-wah and Mr Yu Shu-tak as involved parties;

(c) to rule on the claims of confidentiality and privilege on a number of documents;

(d) to consider any application which the involved parties may make; and

(e) to consider and if appropriate to announce additional hearing dates for the Inquiry.

     The hearing, which will be open to the public, will start at 10 am at the hearing room on 38th floor, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai.
