Percussion troupe STRIKE from New Zealand will be in Hong Kong next month to present their latest production "In the Cube", which is one of the major attractions of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's "Family Fiesta 2007".
Due to an overwhelming response, only limited tickets for the April 22 performance at Yuen Long Theatre are available.

The programme is based around STRIKE's trademark "cubes", an imposing steel scaffolding set adorned with myriad traditional and non-traditional percussion instruments, from cymbals, drums to hubcaps. They support an ever increasing number of percussion instruments in a variety of positions designed for maximum choreographic impact. Players climb, hang and run on the cubes as well as play the instruments. Using elements of fire, water, air, earth and the steel of the cubes and encompassing a broad variety of choreographic and theatrical influences, "In the Cube" is an exhilarating high-energy experience.
STRIKE, founded in 1993, is a high energy drumming group made up of New Zealand's most outstanding percussionists who combine elements of theatre, dance, invention and rhythmic intricacy to create powerful and imaginative productions.
With its mix of musical influences – Pacific, classical and contemporary – combined with the movement and theatrical presentation, STRIKE is unique in its presentation of percussion music.
As well as New Zealand and Australia, STRIKE has also performed internationally at the Journeés de la Percussion (the European Percussion Festival) in France, Cervantino International Festival in Mexico, Queensland Music Festival in Australia, and Taipei International Percussion Convention in Taiwan.
"In the Cube" by STRIKE will be staged from April 20 to 22 at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre and Yuen Long Theatre. Limited tickets priced at $140 and $90 for the April 22 performance at Yuen Long Theatre are now available at all URBTIX outlets.
Senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients may have 50% off (limited quotas for CSSA recipients on a first-come, first-served basis).
