Floral replenishment at Flower Show (with photos)
*************************************************

The Hong Kong Flower Show, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and featuring more than 350,000 flowers with the theme flower the Geranium, has continued to attract large crowds since its opening last Friday (March 16).

To maintain the attractiveness of the floral display, the flower show replenishes displays regularly. Exhibitors of different horticulture organisations also carry out floral replenishment to upkeep the colourful wonderland at the showground for the remaining period of the show that lasts until Sunday (March 25).

Highlights of the show include the spectacular Leisure and Cultural Services Department display "Happy Reunion", special exhibit "Wollemi Pine" (Wollemia nobilis), the spectacular sea of 15,000 colourful tulips, a floral wall displaying East Asian Games' emblem and slogan, and the displays presented by the Institute of Horticulture (Hong Kong), Shanghai Landscaping Administration Bureau, the Bureau of Urban Utilities and Landscaping of Guangzhou Municipality, and Shenzhen Municipal Agriculture, Forestry & Fishery Bureau.

A series of fringe activities showcasing music and dance performances, horticultural talks, floral art demonstrations and fun games complement the 10-day flower show for the enjoyment of visitors.

The Hong Kong Flower Show opens from 9am to 9pm until Sunday. Admission tickets are available at the entrance to the showground at Victoria Park throughout the show period. They are also available until Sunday at the department's District Leisure Services Offices, and venues with Leisure Link services.

Admission for adults is $14. Children aged four to 14, students, senior citizens aged 60 or over and persons with a disability pay half price. Senior citizens and persons with a disability have free admission on weekdays and adults in a group of 30 or more admitted at the same time will pay half price on weekdays.
