People invited to Hospital Authority Board meeting

    The Hospital Authority has invited people to attend its board meeting on Thursday (March 22) at 3.30pm.  

     The authority's board meetings have been open to the public since 1998 to demonstrate the continuous effort of the authority to enhance its transparency and public accountability. The authority board holds meetings at regular intervals to discuss major health policy issues which have impact on the public.

     Through these open meetings, the community are able to understand more about the role and functions of the Hospital Authority Board as well as the operation and services of the authority and its hospitals.

     The Hospital Authority Board will discuss the following agenda items:

- Hospital Authority Annual Plan for 2007-08;
- Progress report on implementation of measures to address the increase in demand for obstetric and neonatal services;
- Update on Telephone Appointment System for General Outpatient Service;
- Annual report of the Public Complaints Committee; and
- Chief Executive's progress report on strategic priorities.

     Meeting agenda and papers will be made available to the public at the meeting. People are reminded that they attend the board meeting only as observers and will not be participating in the meeting discussions. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided at the meeting.

     People who are interested in attending Thursday's board meeting have to make advance booking by contacting the Secretariat of the board at 2300 6797 during office hours. To facilitate booking arrangements, people are advised to provide their name, contact telephone number and correspondence address. In view of the limited seating available in the Public Gallery of the Conference Hall, admission tickets will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
