The nomination period for the third term Chief Executive election, which started on February 14, ended at 5pm today (March 1). Two valid nominations were received by the Returning Officer, Mr Justice Barnabas Fung Wah, during the period.
The nominations were handed in by candidates Mr Alan Leong Kah Kit and Mr Donald Tsang Yam Kuen on February 14 and 16 respectively. Both nominations were ruled valid by Mr Justice Fung on the same day they were received.
A notice of nominations, which carries the names of the candidates and the Election Committee members who have subscribed to a nomination, will be published in the Gazette on March 7.
The poll for the election will be conducted on March 25 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The first round of voting will start at 9am and close at 11am.
