Castle Peak Hospital Influenza A cases

    The spokesperson of Castle Peak Hospital made the following announcement today (February 28):

     Three patients (aged from 33 to 52) of a female admission ward have presented with flu symptoms since 24 February.  Test results of the patients for Influenza A are positive.  They have been transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for further treatment under isolation and are in stable condition.

     Besides, one staff member of the ward has also presented with flu symptoms.  After taking sick leave for two days, the staff recovered and resumed duty today.

     Infection control measures of the ward concerned have already been enhanced.  Admission to the ward has been suspended while all patients and staff are under close medical surveillance.

     The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
