Commission of Inquiry to hold preliminary hearing

The following is issued on behalf of the Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to the Hong Kong Institute of Education:

     The Commission of Inquiry on Allegations relating to the Hong Kong Institute of Education will hold a preliminary hearing at 10am on Tuesday (March 6) to deal, amongst other things, with the procedure and timetable for the inquiry. This hearing is open to the public.

     A spokesman for the Secretariat of the Commission urged any person who had information relevant to the subject matter of the inquiry to attend the hearing. The spokesman also urged such people to inform the Secretariat of their intention to attend the hearing in writing by post to 12/F, West Wing, Central Government Offices, 11 Ice House Street, Central, Hong Kong, or by fax (number 2151 2839) or by email (inquiry@cso.gov.hk) by 5pm, Monday (March 5).

     The spokesman said any person who had any information relevant to the subject matter of the inquiry was invited to provide such information together with all relevant documents to the Secretariat by post or by fax or by email. The commission would be grateful if such information and documents could be provided to the commission as soon as possible.

     The preliminary hearing will be held at the hearing room on 38th floor, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
