Police are investigating a traffic accident in Western District in which a 59-year-old woman was killed today (February 27).
At about 4.30 pm, a rubbish truck driven by a 35-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Shing Sai Road. When reaching the junction with Sai Cheung Street North, it reportedly knocked down the 59-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where she was certified dead at 5.03 pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
