CE to visit Jiangxi

    The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will lead a delegation of government officials and local business leaders on a study tour to Jiangxi on Friday (January 19) to promote economic and trade co-operation between Hong Kong and the Pan-Pearl River Delta (Pan-PRD) region.

     He has led business delegations to three other provinces in the Pan-PRD region, including Guangxi, Hunan and Guizhou since June 2006.

     During the visit to Jiangxi, Mr Tsang will attend the "Hong Kong-Jiangxi Business Co-operation Symposium" and the Jiangxi Tourism Seminar. He will also visit local enterprises and infrastructure facilities.

     The Jiangxi delegation's visit is being organised by the Constitutional Affairs Bureau and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Government officials accompanying Mr Tsang will include the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr Joseph Wong; and the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Mrs Cherry Tse.

     Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on January 21. During the Chief Executive's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Rafael Hui, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
