The Government today (December 29) announced the appointment of two non-official members to the Education Commission.
Newly appointed to the commission are the Chairman of Hong Kong Subsidised Secondary Schools Council and the Principal of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kap Yan Directors' College Ms Shirley Wong She-lai, and partner of P C Woo & Co Mr Lester Garson Huang. They are appointed in their personal capacity for a term of two years with effect from January 1, 2007.
The Secretary for Education and Manpower, Professor Arthur K C Li, said: "We welcome the appointment of the two new members to the commission. With their rich experience in the education and professional sectors, I am confident that they will be able to provide valuable advice to the Commission."
Professor Li also thanked the two outgoing members, Mr Moses Cheng Mo-chi and Mr Dominic Chu Fu-yau for their valuable contributions to the work of the commission.
