Approved Wong Nai Chung Outline Zoning Plan amended
***************************************************

The Town Planning Board (the Board) today (December 8) announced amendments to the approved Wong Nai Chung Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments involve the rezoning of various sites on Ventris Road, Shan Kwong Road, Sing Woo Road, Mui Hing Street, Hawthorn Road and Holly Road from "Residential (Group B)" to "Residential (Group B)6" ("R(B)6"), "R(B)7" and "R(C)2", and the stipulation of development restrictions for the "R(B)6" and "R(B)7" zones in the Notes of the OZP.

The amendments also involve revision of the Notes of the OZP to follow a revised set of Master Schedule of Notes (MSN) to Statutory Plans endorsed by the Board. Under the revised MSN, various measures including broad use terms have been introduced to provide greater flexibility for change of use and reduce the need for planning application.

The general provisions under the covering Notes and the user schedules for various land use zones have been revised to expand the scope of uses or development that are always permitted.  The planning intentions for various zones have been incorporated in the Notes to form part of the statutory plan.

The draft Wong Nai Chung OZP No. S/H7/12, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in North Point and Sha Tin, the Hong Kong District Planning Office and the Wan Chai District Office.

Any person can make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before February 8, 2007. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website at http://www.info.gov.hk/tpb/.
