SEDL visits Australia to promote Hong Kong (with photo)

    The Secretary for Economic Development and Labour, Mr Stephen Ip, is in Sydney, Australia today (November 9) to promote Hong Kong as a leading business hub and premier tourist destination in Asia.

     He will meet Australian Government officials and business representatives to update them on the latest developments and investment opportunities in Hong Kong.
 
     Mr Ip will call on the Chairman of Tourism New South Wales, Mr Maurice Newman, to share  experiences on tourism promotion.

     As the officiating guest of the Hong Kong-Australia Business Association New South Wales Annual Gala Dinner, Mr Ip will deliver a keynote speech. He will present awards to individuals and companies who have outstanding performances in doing business between Hong Kong and Australia.

     While in Sydney, Mr Ip will give interviews to the local media on the Government's efforts in facilitating the growth in the logistics and tourism industries, including the development of cruise terminal facilities at Kai Tak.
