Chief Executive offers condolences to the late Henry Fok's family (with photos)
***********************************************************

The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, today (November 1) paid a visit to the home of the late Henry Fok, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, to express his deepest condolence to Mr Fok's family.

Mr Tsang signed the condolence book, and bowed to the portrait of Mr Fok as a sign of respect. He said he would remember Mr Fok for his engaging personality, and his spirit of always putting the interests of the country first.

"After Mr Fok's passing, Hong Kong people, regardless of social ranks and political inclinations, have been unanimous in their appreciation of his contributions, which are so creditable," Mr Tsang said, adding that the people's praises reflected the importance of Mr Fok in their hearts.

As the Chief Executive is scheduled to visit Europe next week to meet several state leaders and senior government officials, he will not be able to attend Mr Fok's funeral. He has expressed his regrets to the Fok family.

Mrs Elaine Fok, on behalf of her family, expressed gratitude to the Chief Executive for the assistance offered by the Central Government and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government on the funeral arrangements.

The Chief Executive, accompanied by his wife, Selina, the Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works, Dr Sarah Liao, and the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr John Tsang, stayed with the Foks for about half an hour.
