The Leisure and Cultural Services Department today (October 31) announced details of winter lifeguard services at its 32 gazetted beaches.
The lifeguard services at five beaches in the Southern District - Repulse Bay Beach, Middle Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach, Big Wave Bay Beach and Deep Water Bay Beach - will be maintained from 9am to 6pm daily in November this year and in March, 2007.
For Deep Water Bay Beach, the lifeguard services will be maintained from 8am to 5pm every day from December 1 to February 28, 2007.
For beaches in the New Territories, lifeguard services will continue from 8am to 5pm daily between November 1 and March 31, 2007, at Clear Water Bay Second Beach and Silverstrand Beach in Sai Kung District, and Golden Beach in Tuen Mun District.
The LCSD's lifeguard services at the remaining five beaches in the Southern District - South Bay Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, St. Stephen's Beach, Shek O Beach and Turtle Cove Beach - and 19 other beaches in the New Territories - Trio Beach, Kiu Tsui Beach, Hap Mun Bay Beach, Clear Water Bay First Beach, Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach, Butterfly Beach, Castle Peak Beach, Kadoorie Beach, Cafeteria Old Beach, Cafeteria New Beach, Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lo So Shing Beach, Kwun Yam Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Silver Mine Bay Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach - will be suspended from tomorrow (November 1) to March 31, 2007.
